ZAGREB, May 9 (Hina) - A joint committee for the implementation of a free trade agreement between Croatia and Macedonia on Tuesday discussed the possibility of further liberalisation of free trade between the two countries in the next
year, particularly in the areas of agricultural products. The Free Trade Agreement with Macedonia was signed in May 1997. In the first year after the implementation of the agreement, the trade exchange between Macedonia and Croatia increased by 31.3 percent. However, a certain stagnation followed, while the overall trade exchange in 1999 amounted to US$116 million, namely 2.3 percent less than the year before. Apart from Macedonia, Croatia at the moment has a free trade agreement only with Slovenia.(hina) it
