CEMINAC, April 26 (Hina) - Unless Osijek-Baranja County and the Croatian government financially assist municipalities in the Baranja region and the town of Beli Manastir, there is danger that many returnees will start leaving the
eastern Croatian region, local leaders said on Wednesday. "Displaced persons and refugees are paying for the war the second time, the first part was paid for by eight years in exile, and now they pay with a hard life in areas without economy," Beli Manastir mayor Ivica Buconjic told a meeting of Baranja municipal leaders. The municipal leaders asserted the funds Baranja's municipalities were receiving from the state budget were lower than those given municipalities unaffected by last decade's war. In view of the extremely difficult situation, the municipal leaders and Buconjic decided to form a coordination which would urge the county and the government to find answers
