ZAGREB, April 15 (Hina) - Dario Vukic, a former chairman of the management of the Rijeka-based Croatia Line, described the Croatian Privatisation Fund's (HFP) claims about his responsibility for a failure to instigate a bankruptcy
procedure as absurd. The HFP on Friday pressed charges against members of leaderships in three companies - NAMA (chain of department stores), PIK Vrbovec (meat packing industry) and Croatia Line (shipping company) - after they failed to initiate bankruptcy procedures as soon as legal conditions were met for such action. Contrary to an idea about bankruptcy that was in the offing for this shipping company prior to his appointment in Croatia Line, Vukic asserted that he wanted and invested maximum efforts to help recover this company in which he "partly succeeded". Vukic was the Croatia Line Management's head from 1992 to 1999.(hin
