ZAGREB, March 27 (Hina) - Croatia's Economy Minister Goranko
Fizulic on Monday held a meeting with a delegation of the American-
Croatian Chamber of Commerce, led by Radovan Pavelic, the head of
the Chamber's supervisory board and a member of the Croatia - US
Business Council's supervisory board.
The Minister talked about the macroeconomic environment to the
delegation, that requested this meeting as part of their bids to
stimulate further investments in the Croatian economy.
He notified them that a draft law on the investment stimulation was
being in a procedure, and predicted that this law would certainly
stir up the interest of foreign investors.
Fizulic added that a series of laws would be adopted by the end of
this year, aimed at easing the burden imposed on tax payers and said
the national currency, kuna, would remain stable and solid.
American and Australian businessmen of the Croatian origins
expressed interest in continuing to invest in the Croatian economy.
They emphasised they would like to invest only in Croatia.
Fizulic told them that at the proposal of the United States Embassy
in Zagreb, a 'road show' would be organised in U.S. cities to inform
American entrepreneurs of the economic and legal frameworks for the
investment in Croatia.
Pavelic invited Fizulic and a Croatian delegation to be guests also
of American Croatian businessmen, during the planned promotion of
Croatia's potentials in the United States. On that occasion
Croatian officials could explain them the new investment
stimulation act and other related regulations, read a statement
issued by the Economy Ministry.
