CRO PRESIDENT MESIC ON EUROPEAN INTEGRATION WITH DANISH FOREIGN MINISTER

ZAGREB, March 15 (Hina) - Croatia's integration with European structures and particularly the future of its relations with its neighbours, were the main topics of talks between Croatian President Stipe Mesic and Danish Foreign Minister Niels Helveg Petersen. "I believe that Croatia can, by the establishment of good relations with its neighbours, do a lot of good for Europe and it can be Europe's bridge towards the region, Petersen said after the talks with President Mesic. Relations between Croatia and neighbouring countries will be very significant because this is a problematic region, Petersen stressed. I can return to Denmark tonight with a clear idea on ambitions of the new Government, which I entirely share, on a more prosperous Croatia, which has good relations with its neighbours and which is integrated with European structures, Petersen added. Petersen said that the talks with Mesic, which also discussed interior changes in Croatia, were very encouraging. The Danish Minister told reporters he discovered that the results of the presidential elections in Croatia cause a great satisfaction in his country, and that the presidential campaign was covered by Danish media.
