CRO EMBASSY IN U.S. DOES NOT HAVE AGREEMENT CRO SIGNED WITH ATTORNEY RIVKIN

WASHINGTON D.C., March 13 (Hina) - The Croatian Embassy in the United States does not have a contract the Croatian Government had signed with United States lawyer David Rivkin, the Croatian Embassy reported in Washington D.C. on Sunday. The official statement read that "the Croatian Embassy in Washington D.C. does not have the original nor a copy of the contract on the representation of Croatia in its genocide suit against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia before the International Court of Justice. The Croatian Embassy in Washington D.C. was never directly involved in the signing of the contract, nor such a contract was ever signed in the premises of the Croatian Embassy, read the statement. The Croatian Embassy in Washington stressed that no financial transactions nor payments in connection to the contract had been conducted via the Croatian Embassy in Washington D.C., and the Embassy has no knowledge of such transactions. The statement was issued as a response to the claim of Croatian Justice Minister Stjepan Ivanisevic, who told Saturday's press conference in Zagreb that "the contract Croatia signed with Rivkin is at the Croatian Embassy in the U.S.".
