ZAGREB, Mar 8 (Hina) - According to statistical data for 1999, Croatian business people are mostly operating in trade, are based in Zagreb and have small-scale businesses. Of a total of 58,636 entrepreneurs in Croatia who submitted
their statistical reports to the Payment Operations Bureau for nine months of 1999, as many as 44.8 percent operated in trade; 41.1 percent were based in Zagreb, and as many as 96 percent had small-scale businesses (employing up to 50 workers). There was 3.1 percent medium-scale entrepreneurs, who employ from 50 to 250 workers, and 0.9 were large-scale entrepreneurs. Trade, as the most frequent activity, is followed by real estate transactions, leasing and business services (15.7 percent), whereas 14.6 percent business people were operating in manufacturing industry.(hina) jn rml
