1862', a factory of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, the
financial police have established a series of irregularities in the
purchase of shares, the Croatian Privatisation Fund (HFP)
reported.
HFP president Hrvoje Vojkovic told a news conference in Zagreb on
Tuesday it was established that a detrimental contract had been
signed and that the factory's treasury shares had been bought at a
higher and sold at a lower price.
The HFP reported that a criminal investigation into the
irregularities was underway. The investigation is being conducted
by the Interior Ministry's department for fighting economic crimes
at the request of the State Attorney's Office.
Part of 'Badel 1862' employees, gathered in a coordination for the
protection of the factory, blocked the factory's plants in Zagreb
late last year, accusing the former and current management and
supervisory committee of illegal privatisation and ownership
transformation to the detriment of small shareholders.
According to the HFP data, the largest part of the factory's shares,
39.17 percent, are owned by small shareholders, however, the exact
ownership structure should be established at the shareholders'
assembly because shares have been sold in the meantime.
