MOSTAR CANTON COURT ANNOUNCES TRIALS AGAINST 5 BOSNIAN CROATS

MOSTAR, March 7 (Hina) - The Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Court on Tuesday confirmed that Cantonal Prosecutor issued an indictment against five Croats from the southern Bosnia-Herzegovina town of Mostar, namely Zeljko Djidic, Mate Ancic, Ivan Skutor, Erhad Poznic, Zoran Soldo. The head of the judicial council, Mladen Jurisic, who will conduct the court proceedings, told Hina on Tuesday that the five Croats were suspected of war crimes against civilians and prisoners. According to Jurisic, the trial is to take place after the arrest. If the arrest of the five persons doesn't fails to take place in the foreseeable time, I will make public that the five Croats are wanted, and I expect the police to take them into custody, Jurisic said. He elaborated that the indictment against the five Croats was issued on January 11, but it was returned to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia for a revision. The ICTY gave its consent and allowed that the process be conducted before a local court in Mostar, Jurisic said. The ICTY assessed that the five Croats violated human rights. (hina) it mm
