ZAGREB, Mar 2 (Hina) - The Zagreb County Court on Thursday prolonged detention for Miroslav Kutle, who is under investigation for economic crimes, for another two months. Kutle and another 11 persons are suspected of abusing powers in
business transactions thus damaging "Tisak", Croatia's largest press distributor, for some 48 million kuna (US$6 million). Kutle's detention has been prolonged on account of founded suspicion that he could influence evidence and witnesses, as well as due to the especially difficult circumstances surrounding and the way he carried out the crimes he is charged with, Judge Zoran Luburic, who is in charge of proceedings, told Hina today. Kutle was put in detention a month ago and was to go free on March 3. His attorney Anto Nobilo told Hina he would appeal the detention extension to the Supreme Court.(hina) ha jn
