ZAGREB, March 6 (Hina) - Croatian Military Ordinary Josip
Jezerinac, in a statement issued on Monday, expressed wish for the
"ultimate acquittal of General Tihomir Blaskic".
The passing of such a severe sentence, considering "circumstances
of war activities in Bosnia-Herzegovina" and general Blaskic,
imposes a conclusion that the trial and the verdict were based on
politics and not on justice, read the statement signed by Military
Ordinary Josip Jezerinac.
After such a decision was passed by the International Criminal
Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), "we cannot prevent the
fear from the criminalisation of the entire Homeland War, as well as
each person who participated in the defence of the Homeland and the
justified attempt for the freedom and sovereignty of the nation and
the country", read the statement.
Further on, the statement read that such a severe sentence imposes
fear from "the collective guilt of the Croatian nation, namely its
soldiers in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina".
"Therefore we believe that this is an unavoidable moment and
circumstances in which Croatia's identity and sovereignty must
clearly be announced, as well as the right of Croats living outside
of Croatia", the Military Ordinary stressed.
