Also, four reporters were injured in protests against the parade, with one of them being driven by ambulance to the hospital and three being lightly injured.
The police did not specify the seriousness of any injuries, but eye-witnesses said that a TV cameraman was taken to hospital after a brick hit his head.
According to the police report, there were some 200 participants in the parade in the centre of Split, while some 4,000 people, with some of them with anti-gay sentiments, were also watching the parade.
Some of the anti-parade protesters were hurling tear-gas, firecrackers and bottles at the participants in the parade for the rights of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community.
The police said some more arrests were likely later in the day.
