ZAGREB, May 27
(Hina) - A forum on Croatia's immigrants as players
in Croatia's economic development was held in Zagreb on Friday as part
of a conference called "Croatian Emigration and the Homeland:
Developmental Perspectives", organised by the Institute of Social
Sciences Ivo Pilar, in cooperation with the Croatian Heritage
Foundation, under the auspices of the Croatian Academy of Arts and
Sciences.
Croats who returned to the homeland from the Diaspora spoke about their experiences in launching their businesses and in investing in Croatia.
The forum's moderator, Marin Sopta, said that people returning to Croatia to invest their money were not positively portrayed in the public and they only met many bureaucratic obstacles and were deprived of political support.
