The project, which is being funded by the Croatian government and the umbrella organisation of the Hungarian associations in Croatia, is aimed at refurbishing facilities used by ethnic Hungarian associations. Since 2007, a dozen homes have been renovated for that purpose, which has cost HRK 2.5 million, the head of the umbrella organisation, Sandor Juhas, said at today's ceremony in Darda.
According to him, there are 16,500 Hungarians living in Croatia.
