DJAKOVO, Feb 19 (Hina) - The commissions for ecumenical dialogue of the Croatian Bishops' Conference and the Serb Orthodox Church Holy Synod held a meeting in Novi Sad, in the northern Yugoslav province of Vojvodina, on February 17
and 18. Djakovo-Srijem Bishop Marin Srakic, who was in the Croatian delegation, said the meeting was very friendly and useful. The two commissions discussed relations between the two churches since the last meeting of church delegations in Zagreb in November 1998. We have agreed to help each other in resolving the issue of church property confiscated in 1945 and later, Srakic said, adding the talks focused on pastoral and spiritual problems. Speaking about the ecumenical dialogue, Srakic said it has become a reality between the two churches but it is yet to take hold among the clergy and the two peoples.
