ZAGREB, Feb 13 (Hina) - A great Croatian erudite scholar, a famous European humanist, Rudjer Boskovic passed away Milan on 13 February 1787 and was buried in Milan's Church of Santa Maria Podone. Jesuit Boskovic, born in the Croatian
town of Dubrovnik on 18 May 1711, established renown as a mathematician, physicist, astronomer, poet and diplomat. He spent many years working in Milan. On the occasion of the 213th anniversary of his death, Croatia's Consul-General in this Italian city, Marijan Bulat, accompanied by members of the Croatian community and Italian friends, on Sunday laid wreaths at the site where Boskovic had been buried and in front of the memorial plaque with Boskovic's name at the beginning of the Milan street named after the great Croatian scholar, Croatia's Foreign Ministry reported.
