WASHINGTON, Feb 16 (Hina) - The United States have donated protection equipment for mine-clearing worth US$110,000 to non-governmental organisations in Bosnia-Herzegovina, said a statement on Wednesday. The equipment consists mainly
of special footwear and shin pads used by mine-clearing experts of the "BH Demining" and "Pro-Vita" organisations in Bosnia's Croat-Muslim federation, and the "Stop Mines" organisation in Bosnia's other entity, Republika Srpska. According to State Department data, since 1996 the U.S. have donated US$41 million worth of equipment and money for anti-personnel mine-clearing programmes in Bosnia.
