LIVNO LIVNO, Feb 9 (Hina) - Strong patrols of the International Police Task Force (IPTF) and NATO's peace-keeping Stabilisation Force (SFOR) around 10 a.m. on Wednesday took control of the cantonal Interior Ministry building in Livno,
south-western Bosnia, with the explanation it was a regular weaponry control. Surprised by the action, cantonal Interior Minister Ante Barisic told reporters "there already have been weaponry controls in the Interior Ministry, but with fewer SFOR members and without any security and arms." SFOR members have been deployed all over the Interior Ministry building, are well-armed, and do not allow movement through the building, Barisic said. LIVNO, Feb 9 (Hina) - Strong patrols of the International Police
Task Force (IPTF) and NATO's peace-keeping Stabilisation Force
(SFOR) around 10 a.m. on Wednesday took control of the cantonal
Interior Ministry building in Livno, south-western Bosnia, with
the explanation it was a regular weaponry control.
Surprised by the action, cantonal Interior Minister Ante Barisic
told reporters "there already have been weaponry controls in the
Interior Ministry, but with fewer SFOR members and without any
security and arms."
SFOR members have been deployed all over the Interior Ministry
building, are well-armed, and do not allow movement through the
building, Barisic said.
SFOR members also forced their entry into some rooms which were
locked, while SFOR armoured vehicles are outside the building for
security. All this "does not seem like a regular weaponry control at
the Interior Ministry," Barisic assessed.
IPTF's commander in Livno showed Barisic a document stating the
"action" was in keeping with his authorities.
Barisic has called a press conference in the afternoon.
