ZAGREB, Jan 25 (Hina) - In order to gain better reputation and position at the international market, and to increase the tourist turnover by 20 percent in relation to the past year, Croatian tourism needs the support of the state,
Croatian Tourism Minister Ivan Herak told reporters on Tuesday. Herak expressed hope that the new government and a new Tourism Minister would undertake measures in order to find a way out of this difficult financial situation Croatia tourist economy is facing. He said that local governments and self-governments should be included in the preparation for the tourist season in three year 2000. In Herak's opinion, the Government's support should amount to DM 180.75million. The Croatian Reconstruction and Development Bank should ensure loans of about DM137.5 million for the reconstruction of credit liable companies, the development of small craftsmanship.(hina) it
