PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE LETICA VISITS CENTRAL ADRIATIC

MAKARSKA, Jan 20 (Hina) - Croatia is in a situation in which the past times should not be discussed too much, but we need to go forward, which in the coastal area means to stimulate the development of tourism, ship-building, maritime affairs and fishing, independent presidential candidate Slaven Letica said in Podgora, central Adriatic, on Thursday. During a sail on a fishing boat, fishermen informed Letica about the problems fishermen were facing, primarily concerning the division of the sea and price of fuel for fishing boats. By dividing the sea between the Croatian and Italian coast, Adriatic fishermen would be equal with the neighbours, and the lower cost of fuel would be a stimulation for fishing and reviving this branch of agriculture. Should he become president, Letica said, the Zagreb-Split highway would be built within four years. The debt of hotel-owners would be bought off and the zero per cent tax

The debt of hotel-owners would be bought off and the zero per cent tax tariff would be introduced for tourism, while tourism on islands would be spurred by speedy sail connections with the mainland, Letica said. He stressed loans would spur Croatia's world-known ship-building and seafaring tradition. (hina) lml mm
