"CROATIAN TRADITIONAL CULTURE" EXHIBITION TO OPEN IN BUDAPEST

ZAGREB, Jan 18 (Hina) - An exhibition of articles from Croatian ethnographic museums will be opened in Budapest's museum of history on Wednesday. The exhibition will be open until mid-February, after which it will move to Canada, the united States, Argentina, Chile and some European cities. Exhibited will be about 700 items from the end of the 19th and first half of the 20th century which are stored at ethnographic museums in Zagreb, Split, and museum collections from Vinkovci, Osijek, Slavonski Brod, Krk, Rijeka, Cavtat, Cakovci and Hvar. The exhibition will present folk costumes, household and hand-made items, weapons, jewellery, toys and musical instruments from all over Croatia. A catalogue in English will also be released in connection to the exhibition, containing articles by 32 Croatian ethnologists and folklorists, as well as a video about the locations of origin of the items.(hina) lml
