IMOTSKI, Jan 15 (Hina) - Croatia needs the establishment of the
rule-of-law and revival in economy, independent presidential
candidate Ante Ledic told a pre-electoral rally in Imotski on
Saturday.
He said that if elected Croatia's new president, he would advocate
employment and the reduction of internal and external debts, which
he said was the basis of economic revival.
Those who resorted to illegal activity in privatisation must be
called to account, he asserted, adding the rule-of-law must be
introduced in all areas of social living. "I am not interested in
tycoons, but in the fate of the Croatian people," said Ledic, who is
originally from the Imotski area in southern Croatia.
Ledic also pointed to the importance of Croatia's integration into
Euro-Atlantic institutions. Quality preparations are necessary,
he said, so that Croatia by selling national riches should not lose
part of its sovereignty.
Other important areas of his interest are sports and the building
and renovation of churches.
