NEW YORK, Jan 12 (Hina) - The United Nations Security Council on
Wednesday expressed deep dissatisfaction because the three members
of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency failed to fulfil a part of
obligations they took over in November 1999.
The international community will insist on the demand that the New
York statement and the Dayton Agreement be entirely implemented,
said chairman of the Council Richard Holbrooke after an informal
session.
According to him, members of the Council are disappointed because
Alija Izetbegovic, Ante Jelavic and Zivko Radisic failed to fulfil
obligations which they took on November 15, 1999 before the
Security Council. The Council unanimously called them to fulfil
those obligations, Holbrooke said.
I have to express our serious dissatisfaction about the delay, he
added.
At the Security Council session in New York held on the occasion of
the anniversary of the Dayton Agreement, the three members of the
Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency adopted the joint New York statement
in which they agreed on the series of concrete measures which should
be taken in line with the frame plan of the High Representative for
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
During the session, the Council listened to the report of the United
Nations Secretary General Assistant for peaceful operations, Hedi
Annabi. Peace was ensured, and economy is gradually recovering,
Holbrooke said on behalf of the Council.
High Representative Wolfgang Petritsch will be informed of
conclusions from the session, which he would forward to
Izetbegovic, Jelavic and Radisic.
