ZAGREB, Dec 15 (Hina) - The Council of the Croatian Antitrust Agency on Tuesday assessed that franchise contracts concluded between McDonald's Croatia and businessmen in the Croatian towns of Varazdin and Pula complied with antitrust
laws, the Agency reported on Wednesday. Considering a contract on distribution made between businessmen of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd (Korea) and the Croatian firm Europatrade, the Council proclaimed provisions of the deal as not valid, because they are actually agreement on prices between a manufacturer and a seller. Antitrust laws explicitly ban agreements on price. The agency will press charges against Europatrade as it failed to submit the above-mentioned contract to the Agency on time. Yesterday's session of the Council also revolved around cases such as abuse of monopolistic position of the public company "Narodne Novine" by raising prices and
