MOSTAR HAS A SINGLE POLICE DEPARTMENT MOSTAR, Dec 20 (Hina) - As of Thursday, Mostar will have a single police department instead of the existing seven police departments, including the one in the central city zone,
Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Interior Minister Goran Bilic said on Thursday. Under the Dayton peace agreement, Mostar was organised into three majority Croat and three majority Bosniak municipalities, each with its own police department, while the central city zone had its own department. Bilic explained that the single police department would comprise criminal, patrol and traffic police. The police administrative sector will be unified by the spring next year. The unification of the Mostar police is expected to remove one of the main obstacles to the normalisation of the situation in the city and accelerate the return of refugees.(hina) rml
