STOLAC POLICE CHIEF REPLACED

MOSTAR, Dec 5 (Hina) - The acting chief of police in Stolac municipality in southern Bosnia-Herzegovina, Davor Vidovic, and his deputy Smajo Cerkez, were replaced on Wednesday in line with a decision made by the interior minister of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and his deputy over the deteriorated security situation in Stolac. Zdravko Dujmovic has been appointed new police chief and Enes Tucakovic his deputy, the cantonal interior ministry's information department said. The two police officials were replaced two days after a group of local Croats destroyed and set afire a wooden structure fencing off the site where the town's Emperor's Mosque, destroyed during the war, is to be rebuilt. The canton interior ministry confirmed that police arrested, questioned and pressed charges against two Croats who participated in the incident.
