BELGRADE, Dec 20 (Hina) - Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic said on Thursday that cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) should be realised "based on the ICTY Statute, since the
country (Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) cannot pass an adequate law" on cooperation with the Tribunal. He said a law on the FRY's cooperation with the Tribunal was "necessary, if it can be passed," adding that the worst solution would be if a "bad law" was passed. In this sense, he criticised the draft law as moved by Yugoslavian President Vojislav Kostunica's party, the Democratic Party of Serbia, describing it as contrary to the Constitution.
