development of Croatian society and cooperation between the state and local self-government units, Antunovic told a round table on what civil society can do for Croatia's development. The government expects civil society will assume some state administration functions which, being closer to the citizens, it can perform better, she added. Antunovic pointed to the importance that cooperation among three key segments, the government, NGOs, and the economy, has for Croatia's development. The round table was organised by the Centre for the Development of
Non-Profit Organisations as part of the Fifth Forum of non-
profit/non governmental organisations at Days of Associations at
the Zagreb Fair.
The two-day event featured 257 associations from all over Croatia
which are financially assisted by the state budget.
