Minister Hrvoje Kraljevic instead of the Prime Minister, Ivica Racan, as they had requested. The government said the rejection showed that the representatives of Croatian students were not ready for talks and solving students' issues, but rather had their own media promotion as motive. The statement read that members of the HSZ Presidency requested to be received by Prime Minister Ivica Racan to discuss the difficult position of students and present the results of the "Big No" petition.
