ZAGREB, Nov 29 (Hina) - Representatives of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH), and ruling coalition parties discussed the "Contract for a Fair Croatia" Thursday, and expressed dissatisfaction with its
implementation in practice. Prior to January elections, the contract was signed by the biggest union centre and the opposition at the time. The SSSH president Davor Juric stressed unionists were particularly dissatisfied with the state's poor functioning, reforms of education and the Croatian Employment Bureau, and carrying out items on the revival of the economy. Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH), and ruling coalition
parties discussed the "Contract for a Fair Croatia" Thursday, and
expressed dissatisfaction with its implementation in practice.
Prior to January elections, the contract was signed by the biggest
union centre and the opposition at the time.
The SSSH president Davor Juric stressed unionists were
particularly dissatisfied with the state's poor functioning,
reforms of education and the Croatian Employment Bureau, and
carrying out items on the revival of the economy.
The SSSH's main council will decide on the contract's possible
cancellation on December 17, Juric said. Labour Minister Davorko
Vidovic said part of the contract became part of the government's
programme, the implementation of which still needed some more work.
He announced updating the current or signing a new document which
would be part of a wider social agreement among all social
partners.
Prime Minister Ivica Racan, and several members of the government
from each of the ruling coalition parties, apart from the Croatian
Peasants' Party, attended the meeting.
