ZAGREB, Nov 28 (Hina) - President of the Croatian Association of Returnees (ZPH), Josip Kompanovic, said on Wednesday that the turning off of heating and hot water for displaced persons, mostly from Vukovar, accommodated in hotels in
Opatija and Lovran, was "inappropriate and improper" pressure. It is improper to evict displaced persons ahead of Christmas, because this was a disturbance of peace for these people, he said, adding that he would advocate for the evictions to be postponed for after New Year. Kompanovic told Hina that he had spoken this morning with Assistant Reconstruction Minister Lovro Pejkovic, who agreed that the acts were improper, and promised that water and heating would be restored for the displaced persons.(hina) lml sb
