(RACVIAC), Nikola Nogolica and his deputy Durkhard Thomassewski,
on Thursday presented RACVIAC's activities at a regular session of
the permanent council of the Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna.
The RACVIAC was founded by the German and Croatian governments --
two donor countries -- with the aim of supporting the goals of the
third working table of the Stability Pact, mostly in the area of
arms control and other related security issues.
Nogolica said the RACVIAC supported the OSCE in its mandate in line
with provisions of the Dayton Agreement pertaining to the building
of trust and security, as well as the promotion of cooperation and
good neighbourly relations in countries of Europe's South-East.
The RACVIAC also ensures a forum for regular dialogue and
cooperation in the South-East of Europe, and the education of
personnel in all forms of implementation and verification of arms
control.
The RACVIAC will assist countries in the region in their more
efficient participation in the implementation of existing
agreements on arms control and measures for the building of trust
and security, taking into consideration general standards which
will in the end contribute to the implementation of the Agreement,
Nogolica asserted.
Chairman of the OSCE permanent council, Rumanian Ambassador Liviu
Botu, stressed the RACVIAC's great contribution and significance
in the stabilisation of the South-East of Europe and the
