ZAGREB, Nov 14 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament on Wednesday considered a report on a reform of the health system and health insurance. Even though they made many objections, the ruling coalition's MPs supported the report, whereas opposition deputies refused to endorse it. While opposition MPs assessed the situation in the health system as disastrous, deputies of the ruling coalition stressed development was impossible with relatively low contributions, which annually amount to USD400 per capita. One of the most often heard objections regarded a delay in the enforcement of the reform. Answering a comment by Vesna Skare-Ozbolt that a poor health system and health policy were responsible to a great extent for the deaths of kidney patients who underwent hemodialysis with "Baxter" dialysers, Deputy Health Minister Rajko Ostojic said the majority of health workers did their job properly and with devotion.
