ZAGREB, Nov 7 (Hina) - Eighty-three percent of Croatian Post (HP) employees participated in Wednesday's strike organised because of the government's refusal to sign a collective agreement, unions said. On-duty services for receiving
mail and payment transactions functioned normally in all county and municipal centres. The HP Union and the National Union of Croatian Post and Telecommunications Employees warned they would organise union activities which would last several days unless the collective agreement is signed by the end of the month. Unions were told yesterday by the Maritime Affairs, Transport and Communications Ministry that an extraordinary HP assembly would take place on November 14, at which the date of the signing of the collective agreement would be set. The collective agreement was harmonised a month and a half ago, but unions believe the government is delaying its signing on purpose.(hina) lml
