UNIONS: 80 PERCENT OF HP WORKERS ON STRIKE

ZAGREB, Nov 7 (Hina) - About 80 percent of the Croatian Post (HP) workers are participating in Wednesday's day-long strike, heads of two postal unions which organised the protests because the government is procrastinating with the signing of an already adjusted agreement said. The strike was successful, the workers are aware of the problems because the collective agreement is the Gospel for them, the president of the Croatian POst Union, Jadranka Dumbovic told a news conference today. Ten percent of HP employees are working today in order to ensure the functioning of national and international postal services. According to the unionists, the turnout in Cakovec and Sibenik was poor, while in other towns, citizens will not be getting their mail.
