ZAGREB, Oct 24 (Hina) - Parliament on Wednesday debated a bill of amendments to the Constitutional Law on Croatia's Constitutional Court whereby the law would be harmonised with constitutional changes. The bill guarantees the maximum
legal foundation for the protection of the principles of constitutionality and legality, as well as human rights and freedoms stipulated by the Constitution, deputy speaker Mato Arlovic said on behalf of the bill's sponsor, the parliament's Constitution, Rule Book and Political System Committee. The bill was endorsed by the benches of the ruling coalition's five parties. The bill expands the circle of legal entities and issues defended before the Constitutional Court, makes the election of said court's judges democratic, and introduces the possibility of defending human rights even before regular legal courses have been exhausted.
