ZAGREB, Oct 24 (Hina) - Freedom of reporting and action has been violated in the case of Denis Sabic, a reporter for Radio Sinj and part-time collaborator of Croatian Radio, MPs Jadranka Kosor and Josko Kontic said in parliament on
Wednesday. Croatian Radio, where Sabic worked as a part-time collaborator, fired the reporter two days after he hosted a protest rally organised by the Headquarters for the protection of Homeland war values in Zagreb last Saturday. In a debate about a bill on changes to the Law on Public Information, Kosor (Croatian Democratic Union) and Kontic (Social Liberals), said Sabic's dismissal from work was a clear example of the violation of the freedoms of a journalist as an individual. Social Democratic Party's Marin Jurjevic said Sabic could not have been sacked from Croatian Radio because he had never had a permanent work contract there.(hina) sb rml
