NEW YORK, Oct 5 (Hina) - In a presidential statement on Friday, the United Nations Security Council called on Kosovo Albanian political leaders to invest all efforts to defuse tension and create favourable conditions for a Nov. 17
parliamentary ballot. Before issuing the statement, the Council heard a report by the head of UN's mission to the southern Yugoslav province, Hans Haekkerup, on preparations for and the organisation of the elections that have been described as a watershed in Kosovo's political life. Haekkerup said around 1.2 million constituents in and out of Kosovo would be able to go to the polls. create favourable conditions for a Nov. 17 parliamentary ballot.
Before issuing the statement, the Council heard a report by the head
of UN's mission to the southern Yugoslav province, Hans Haekkerup,
