DUBROVNIK, Sept 28 (Hina) - The president of the Association of Workers' Trade Unions, Boris Kunst, slammed the government's social reform in the southern seaport of Dubrovnik on Friday. The reform reduces social benefits and the
social standard, especially in health care, and affects the poorest the most adversely, said Kunst. He maintains the social measures that have been proposed make no distinctions between the cheated and cheaters as the government has done nothing it was expected to, failing to prosecute those who abuse social benefits. Kunst said the reform was the government's attempt to establish a hard neo-liberal model of social policy which, he added, was something the poor Croatian worker could not bear. Kunst announced protests in front of the government building under the motto "Sobering Protests" by the end of the year.(hina) ha sb
