ZAGREB, Sept 27 (Hina) - Measures in the management over the state-run portfolio as well as in privatisation are yielding positive results, the Croatian government assessed at its session on Thursday. A series of measures, which were
taken in this regard from June 2000 until this September, led to the reduction of the number of companies in the portfolio, the cuts in the portfolio's losses and a decrease in insolvency, said government members while analysing the situation in the state-run portfolio. Last year and in the first nine months of 2001, the Croatian Privatisation Fund (HFP) privatised a total of 877 packages of stocks, i.e. 647 companies. The earnings from the privatisation has come to approximately 88.625 million US dollars this year. The Ivica Racan Cabinet said Croatia should adopt a new privatisation law to continue positive trends in this segment.(hina) ms
