ZAGREB, Sept 24 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula on Monday attended a donors' conference, "Humanitarian Mine-Clearing - Support to the National Anti-Mine Action Programme", which is being held in Zagreb under the
organisation of the Croatian Mine Centre, the UN Development Programme and the World Bank. Potential donors are offered concrete mine-clearing projects, mine victims assistance projects, education programmes on mines, scientific development of anti-mine action projects and projects of strengthening mine-clearing capacities. According to the National Anti-Mine Action Programme, Croatia should be free of mines by 2010, for which a total of 9,576,400 kuna are needed (more than one million dollars). An estimated 4,000 kilometres of soil in Croatia are suspected or established to be mine-infested.(hina) lml
