ZAGREB/GOSPIC, Sept 21 (Hina) - The municipal state prosecutor's office in the central town of Gospic on Friday dropped charges against four former Croatian Army employees owing to limitation. They were suspected of having mined
monuments to anti-fascist fighters in the villages of Rakovica and Josani six years ago. Charges for a crime against overall security have a five-year limitation since the crime was committed. Charges for the four aforementioned suspects were pressed in mid-June this year, namely nine months after the limitation period. Croatian associations of anti-fascist fighters estimate about 3,000 monuments to the anti-fascist struggle have been destroyed or damaged in the last ten years.(hina) ha sb
