the Croatian government endorsed a package of ten bills intended to define social restrictions in the 2001-2002 period. The health insurance bill introduces an obligatory health service package, 90% of which will be paid from basic health insurance, while the remaining 10% will be covered by additional insurance. The bill also states the insured will cover a part of the cost for certain prescription drugs. Only children under 18 years of age, persons with the disability status of 80% and over, and persons whose income does not cross the income census will not have to pay for prescription drugs.
