ZAGREB, Sept 19 (Hina) - Croatian Justice Minister Stjepan Ivanisevic said on Wednesday the government would not discontinue the procedure of appointment of court presidents as recently requested by Croatian Judges' Association
president Vladimir Gredelj, because the appointment procedure was in line with the law. "Everything is in line with the law and once court councils submit their assessments of the candidates for presidents of higher courts, they will be appointed. Applications will then be invited for the presidents of municipal, commercial and magistrate's courts," Ivanisevic said. The minister refused to comment on Gredelj's accusations from a letter to Prime Minister Ivica Racan that Ivanisevic had deceived the government regarding changes to the courts law and unlawfully initiated the procedure of appointment of all court presidents.(hina) rml
