BELGRADE, Sept 19 (Hina) - Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic stated Wednesday "there was no point" in holding a meeting on the future of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia without Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic, who
announced earlier today he was not attending. Djindjic told the Belgrade press he was not involved in the preparations for the meeting, scheduled for Wednesday afternoon by the Yugoslav President, Vojislav Kostunica. Montenegrin representatives, President Milo Djukanovic and Prime Minister Filip Vujanovic, cancelled their trip to Belgrade because Kostunica also invited Yugoslav Prime Minister Dragisa Pesic, but not Serbian President Milan Milutinovic. BELGRADE, Sept 19 (Hina) - Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic
stated Wednesday "there was no point" in holding a meeting on the
future of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia without Montenegrin
President Milo Djukanovic, who announced earlier today he was not
attending.
Djindjic told the Belgrade press he was not involved in the
preparations for the meeting, scheduled for Wednesday afternoon by
the Yugoslav President, Vojislav Kostunica.
Montenegrin representatives, President Milo Djukanovic and Prime
Minister Filip Vujanovic, cancelled their trip to Belgrade because
Kostunica also invited Yugoslav Prime Minister Dragisa Pesic, but
not Serbian President Milan Milutinovic.
The Podgorica authorities do not recognise the Yugoslav federal
government because it was formed through former President Slobodan
Milosevic's "constitutional coup d'etat" last year. He managed to
confirm the government despite Montenegrin protests and without
their representatives by changing certain constitutional
amendments to suit his needs.
