PRISTINA, Aug 19 (Hina) - Unidentified persons on Saturday tried to assassinate Lieutenant Colonel Tahir Zenaj, a former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) commander, the Kosovo daily Bota Sot reported on Sunday. Three attackers opened fire
on Zemaj's car on a road near the town of Pec in western Kosovo. Zemaj was not hurt in the attack. The former KLA commander, who was not included in the Kosovo Protection Corps after the end of the Kosovo conflict, recently published a book on battles in Kosovo in 1998 and 1999. Commenting on the attempt on his life, Zemaj said there was a small number of people in Kosovo who were still serving Athens, Belgrade and Tirana, but Kosovo's independence was the ideal of all people living in Kosovo.(hina) rml
