SECURITY COMPANIES PREPARED TO TAKE IN 600 SACKED POLICE

ZAGREB, Aug 13 (Hina) - Private security companies registered with the Croatian Employers' Association (HUP) have said they are prepared to immediately employ 600 police officers who have been dismissed from the force as redundant due to economising measures at the Interior Ministry. During today's meeting, Interior Minister Sime Lucin, HUP director Zeljko Ivancevic, president of the security company association, Ankica Vrbanc and HUP education programme head, Zeljko Orsag, concluded the security companies are also prepared to take in additional 2,000 former police as employees after the law on the protection of property and people is passed. Special attention will also be paid to measures of active employment policy which can also be directed towards employment in private companies. The Interior Ministry and the HUP, the association said in a statement, agree to jointly work on allocating benefits to companies
