According to such trends in Croatia, it is likely that the country
will realise the expected four-percent-increase in the GDP this
year.
Thus, Croatia may be in the circle of countries in transition such
as the Czech Republic and Slovakia that will have a higher increase
in the GDP this year as against 2000, while other countries have a
general downward trend in the GDP, according to Croatia's Finance
Ministry.
According to the global tendencies, there is also a downward trend
in the strongest economies such as Japan, the United States and the
European Union and this affects other markets, the same source
said.
Contrary to this, the Czech Republic expects this year's rise in the
GDP of 3.5 percent as against last year's 2.7-percent increase,
Slovakia expects 2.8 percent as against last year's 2.1 and Croatia
is likely to have an increase of four (4) percent as against the 3.7
percent in 2000.
According to the Deutsche Bank, other countries in transition will
have the slowed increase in the GDP this year.
