ZADAR, July 26 (Hina) - About five thousand citizens gathered in the main square of the Croatian coastal town of Zadar on Thursday evening at the promotion of a book about General Ante Gotovina, wanted by the UN war crimes tribunal.
Presenting the book entitled "Warrior - General and Adventurer" (in an unofficial translation), its author, Nenad Ivankovic reiterated his severe criticism of the current authorities that have decided to extradite Croatian generals to the ICTY tribunal. Ivankovic said it was a precedent that generals of a victorious army that defended the country against criminal aggression should be handed over to a foreign court. On this occasion Zadar Archbishop Ivan Prendja read out a speech he had delivered to commanders of Croatian units before the 1993 liberating operation 'Maslenica' at the request of the then chief commander in the area Ante Gotovina. Criminal, chanted "Ante, Ante!".
