GENERAL ADEMI: I WILL COMPLY WITH ICTY'S REQUEST

ZAGREB, July 12 (Hina) - Major General Rahim Ademi, who the media speculate may be one of the two Croatian generals whose hand-over the Hague war crimes tribunal requested recently, told Croatian Television on Thursday he would comply with any request of the tribunal. I heard it in the media that I was a potential indictee of the Hague tribunal but I have not been served with any indictment, he said. I regret very much, if such an indictment exists, not having given my testimony two-three years ago, when the Hague tribunal requested it, but nobody informed me about that, Ademi said. According to still unconfirmed information, Rahim Ademi and Ante Gotovina are the two Croatian generals the Croatian government on Saturday decided to hand over to the Hague tribunal in line with a tribunal's request and two sealed indictments. The indictments were the reason why the tribunal's chief prosecutor Carla del Ponte visited Croatia last Friday. Three days ago Prime Minister Ivica Racan said General Ademi was ready to appear before the Hague tribunal of his own accord should he be the person wanted by the Hague tribunal and that the Croatian government was ready to help his defence.
